Activist Story – Mandy Hu

Mandy Hu, who served as a Vaid fellow in spring/summer 2005, co-authored Asian Pacific American Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender People: A Community Portrait and was the lead researcher and author of Selling Us Short: How Social Security Privatization Will Affect Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Americans. Hu is now studying law at New York University.

“The fellowship gave me the opportunity to work with and among the brightest minds and kindest people in LGBT politics,” Hu said of her Task Force experience. “The office is a community of motivated and talented people whose devotion to civil rights can only be described as inspirational.”
