Cynde Horne

For the past 16 years, Cynde has been a lawyer, practicing primarily in the area of family law and estate planning. In her law practice, Ms. Horne represented countless LGBT clients, helping them protect their relationship rights with wills and powers of attorney and assisting them in maintaining their relationships with their children in divorce and custody litigation.

She served on the local leadership committee of the SCRO of Lambda Legal for six years and this year was named to Lambda Legal’s National Leadership Council. She served as chair of the annual Lambda Legal Women’s brunch in its second and third years. In 2008 she served as co-chair of the Mad Hatter Brunch and was on the committees for the 2008 Women’s Brunch and the Lawrence v Texas Fifth Anniversary Celebration. Cynde was on the Board of Directors of Stonewall Democrats of Dallas and was a 2008 delegate to her county Democratic party convention and the Texas State Democratic party convention. She was active in local politics, actively campaigning for candidates who are LGBT allies.

In 2007 she was named “Best Lawyer” in the Dallas Voice’s “Best of the Best” poll. Cynde is a graduate of Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law and holds a Master of Arts degree in English from Louisiana Tech University. As assistant director of major gifts, Cynde is happy to be on the development team of The Task Force and is eager to do her part to support its vital work.
