Kayley Whalen is a social justice activist and writer who works at the intersections of transgender issues, humanism, drug policy reform and HIV/AIDS harm reduction. She also volunteers as a member of the Communications Committee for the Ingersoll Gender Center. Prior to joining the Task Force, she was a development associate at the American Humanist Association and a financial analyst at Fannie Mae.

In 2008 she joined the DC Rollergirls roller derby league and currently serves on their Sponsorship Committee, which she chaired from 2010 to 2013. She has also served on their Board of Directors. While currently on hiatus from skating, she skated under the name “Lenore Gore.” Her story “Talk Derby To Me” was published in the anthology Gender Outlaws the Next Generation. Kayley has a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Women's Studies from Swarthmore College.
