Task Force decries anti-gay bigotry involving teen killed in hate-laced attack

“Our hearts go out to Lawrence’s family — and to all young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender kids who are — right now, right this minute — being bullied and beaten in school while adults look the other way.”
— Task Force Executive Director Matt Foreman on the shooting death of 15-year-old Lawrence King (pictured)

Search under way for executive director

The Task Force has launched a nationwide search to replace outgoing Executive Director Matt Foreman, who recently announced he was stepping down in April to lead the Gay & Lesbian Program at the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund.

Think you’d make a great executive director of one of the country’s largest LGBT rights organizations? Know someone who might fit the bill? If so, check out the job description and pass it on to others.

Give some sage advice — to SAGE

The Task Force is partnering with SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders) in advancing protections for LGBT elders.

SAGE wants to know what you think about aging and the LGBT community, as well as services and programs currently offered or potentially offered by SAGE. It takes about 7 minutes to tell SAGE what you think in this confidential electronic survey. You’ll be participating in the SAGE strategic planning process and you will help determine the future of services for LGBT elders across the country. Whether you consider yourself old, middle-aged or young — age doesn’t matter in this survey, so please take the survey by Feb. 26. It’s easy and confidential!
